Istanbul Technical University
ITU was established in 1773, during the time of the Ottoman Sultan Mustafa III. With its original name "Muhendishane-i Bahr-i Humayun". With a history stretching back over 238 years, providing technical education within a modern educational environment and strong academic staff. ITU’s motto is “Pioneer Through The Centuries”. ITU has assumed pivotal roles in the reconstruction, modernization, and administration of the country.
ITU, which has an important international
feature, is the world's third oldest technical university dedicated to engineering sciences as well as social sciences recently, and is one of the most prominent educational institutions in Turkey. ITU has over 14.000 undergraduate, over 5.000 postgraduate degree students and 1990 academic staff with 404 professors. The university has 39 undergraduate, 144 graduate programs, 12 colleges, 346 labs and 12 research centers.
ITU Ayazaga Campus



Of ITU's five campuses, the main campus is located at Ayazaga is called Ayazaga Campus, a recently developed business area. The Rector's Office, administrative units, 7 faculties of ITU and of the five institutes ITU has four are situated on this campus which extends over an area of 247 hectares.
The Ayazağa campus can be reachable in ten minutes from the village of Istinye on the Bosphorus. Travel by water from the Istinye bay to Kadıkoy and the Anatolian side is possible. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city campuses in normal traffic, when there are no traffic-jams. Public buses setting out from the campus provide transportation to Taksim, the lively center of modern Istanbul.
ITU Ayazaga Lakeside Halls [Accomodation]


During the EBEC, all participants will stay in Ayazaga Lakeside Halls where is the best place in Istanbul Technical University campus. Ayazaga Lakeside Halls consist of 12 buildings with a beautiful view of the ITU lake and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. 6 flats of each building, 4 rooms are in the each apartment and beds in each room are two. Rooms are equipped with all modern furnishings in flats have a telephone and internet connection. Each apartment is available in their own kitchen and bathroom. Each buildings have laundry, ironing rooms, 24 hour security and daily cleaning. Within five minute walking distance to competition and party places.
Ekrem Elginkan Private High School [Competition Venue]


Ekrem Elginkan High School is located in Ayazaga Campus and it is operated by ITU Development Foundation. The highschool has five minute walking distance to the dormitories. Whole competitions and presentations will be held in this highschool facility.
Earthquake Engineering and Disaster Management Institute [Official Opening Venue]

This institute has 10 minutes walking distance to competition places. Official opening day will be held in this institute and the opening ceremony will be held in Remzi Ulker Conference Hall.
Taşkışla Campus [Closing Day Venue - 1]


The Taşkışla Campus is located in the city center. It is in the Taksim area which has served as the trade and cultural center of the city since the 19th century. This immense building has been constructed all in structural masonry between 1848 and 1853 as a military medicine academy for the Ottoman Army. In 1944 the building was handed over to the ITU. In 1983 it has been classified as a first degree historical monument. Now, The Faculty of Architecture is located on the Taskısla campus. Company presentations, jobfair, lunch, team design testing during the closing day will be held in Taskısla campus.
Feriye Restaurant [Closing Day Venue - 2]


The story of the Feriye 'Karakol' or Police Station commences in the second half of the 19th century with the removal of the Ottoman Sultans from Topkapı Palace in the Old City to the magnificent palaces they had built along the Bosphorus. The Feriye Karakol is a fascinating example of Ottoman architecture of the period. Following a restoration in 1995, today, as Feriye Restaurant, it is a point of intersection of past and future at an exceptional spot on the Bosphorus. Closing ceremony and dinner service during the closing day will be held in Feriye Restaurant.
