EBEC Structure

EBEC PyramidEuropean BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) is a project organised by Board of European Students of Technology that gathers the top engineering students in Europe.

The mission of EBEC is to connect the students with leaders from various parts of society, developing their technical abilities and soft skills and widening their horizons by engaging them in team based challenges.

The EBEC project is under the core activity of BEST;
"providing complementary education."

During the 3 rounds of the competition the teams work on tasks from different fields and have to use their creativity and skills to find the best solution. They have the chance to experience intensive team work, cross cultural communication and it is an enlightening experience to improve themselves.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Self-development of the students that will participate on this project, which is ensured through the two competition categories they will be involved in: Case Study and Team Design
  • Promotion of Engineering and Engineering Education among students giving them the possibility to practice the theoretical knowledge gained during the academic courses, by finding new technical solutions for day to day problems that humanity is dealing with at the moment.
  • Promotion of cultural diversity among students, gathering students from different countries in the competition rounds.

 

In the last EBEC edition more than 5000 students were part of the competition during the local rounds organised in their home universities. From these, almost 600 qualified for the national or regional rounds and the best 104 students participated in the Final event that took place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
